One of my remaining friends from my time in Colorado Springs now lives near Denver. Mindy and her great husband, Tim, and darling twin boys, Hans & Harry were gracious to let us crash at their place for a few nights. Mindy is such a trooper for letting us stay with them as her twin boys are 19 months and she is 5 months pregnant with twins...again!! Josiah was beyond thrilled to be staying at their house because he had playmates. Mindy is one of those friends that it feels like a day has never passed since the last time you saw one another but you wish lived around the corner. Fortunately Mindy is one of the few friends from my days in Colorado that I've been able to see a few times since moving away.
Colorado Rockies
Tim and Mindy, along with Nate and I, were able to get out for a date night thanks to Mindy's mom. We went downtown for a quick dinner and then headed to the Rockies game.
We could practically reach out and touch the field.
Okay, I hate this picture of me but it's the only one of Mindy and I...and she looks great!
Nate & Tim enjoying the game...and munching on some peanuts!
Go Rockies!

Elitch Gardens
The thing at the top of our list was to go to Elitch's (oh, and Chick-Fil-A for me). We devoted a day to the amusement park located downtown Denver. We spend the day riding rides and hanging out at the water park connected to the amusement park. Josiah's first amusement park experience was a success, he LOVED rides! The ironic thing is that he got in for free because of his age and he is the one that probably got the most out of it. I can't wait until he's old enough to ride roller coasters!
By taking part in this obstacle course where you wear goggles that make it seem as if you are intoxicated got us each $15 off of our tickets!!
We started with the carousel...
then to the train...
then to the planes...
and then to the hot air balloons.
Josiah decided to take a ride by himself...
drive a boat...
and drive a truck.
(Real men drive pink trucks!)
Josiah joined us on grown up rides.
Upon finishing this ride he said, "I want to do it again!"
Cooling down with a little lemonade while daddy rode the roller coaster.
A ride on the teacups!
We ended the day right where we started.
"Happy Trails"
(Just in case you're wondering, I didn't get any pictures from the waterpark because we were way to busy having fun in the water.)
The Denver Aquarium
Our flight to come home wasn't until Thursday evening so we used that afternoon, before heading to the airport, to go to the aquarium. Nate & I like going to the aquariums in whatever city we're visiting and have been to quite a few. In our opinion the Denver Aquarium is definitely is one of the best! Who would've thought an aquarium in a land locked state would be so impressive?
We saw A LOT of fish!
It was so great things were at eye level for the little guys.
We saw a few sting rays.
Just weird.
A fake orangutan...
A real tiger...in the aquarium!!
On the lookout bridge. Josiah is waving "hi".
Salt water fish.
Coral reef...Nate's favorite!
Getting a pressed penny which Josiah managed to lose within ten minutes.
One final pic on our way out of town. I hope it's not another 10 years before we get back.
