The Quest for the Perfect Christmas Tree

One of the things I love the most about Christmas time in the Northwest is being able to go cut down our own Christmas Tree.  There are a number of Christmas tree farms withing minutes of our house.  This year we decided to try a new farm and we will definitely be going back next year.   We were on top of it this year and went the Saturday after Thanksgiving on a beautiful sunshine filled day!

Santa's Sleigh

Daddy & Josiah getting ready to go hunting for our tree.

Off they go.

Josiah insisted to carry the saw.
No Chainsaws were allowed.

Walking through the trees.

Attack of the Canadian Geese!!!

And there she is...our Grand Fir!

Checking out the trunk.

Siah helping daddy assess the situation.

We did it with the hand saw!

Josiah wanted to take a stab at it...fully supervised of course!

Following daddy and the tree back to the Jeep.

Proof I was there.  :-)

Trying hot chocolate for the very first time.

Getting the tree ready to be shaken by the machine.

Netting her up for the ride home.
(Notice the chainsaws they can use but we couldn't)

And we're off!

Candy cane from the nice lady for the ride home.

Checking the lights with dad.

Putting them on.

And the final product!
